Brief Introduction to Shanghai YKK Company

The YKK Group invested and established its first zipper production base in mainland China called Shanghai YKK Zipper Co., Ltd. in 1992. In the following year, the YKK Group established Shanghai YKK International Trade Co., Ltd. in Shanghai where the integration of production and distribution was realized, and a new chapter was turned in YKK's brilliant history for its development in Asia. Shanghai YKK Zipper Co., Ltd. boasts first-class production equipment, a well-developed distribution network and an energetic sales team. Shanghai YKK Company inherited YKK's tradition of a constant pursuit of good quality and reasonable prices to meet the demands of the Chinese market.

Business Office

Shanghai YKK's business office is located in the Huaihai Road Finance and Business Center around Shanghai. It has 14 distributing points all over the country, which provide clients with convenient face-to-face quality services. Along with its thriving business, Shanghai YKK Company will further improve its quality of service and its sales plan.

Lingang Factory

The Lingang Factory is 11,000 square meters in size, and the Phase 1 Factory that is 66,000 square meters in size has started its operation. The Lingang Factory is mainly responsible for the production of materials used in zipper manufacturing. In addition, an R&D office is responsible for the development of special sliders. All of the materials manufactured in the Lingang Factory are supplied to the Minghang Factory. The Lingang Factory keeps the concept of "Harmony with the Environment" in its operation. Besides water and energy saving systems, it also employs a water recycling system to reduce water usage. The whole factory is equipped with air conditioners, and other measures have been taken regarding exhaust, ventilation and noise. Furthermore, the Lingang Factory will make full use of Yangshan Port, which is located near the factory. The factory will supply materials to all worldwide YKK affiliates in the near future as one of YKK's most important "Material Supply Bases."

Minhang Factory

The Shanghai YKK Factory was constructed and went into operation in April of 1992. In April of 2001, the second phase of the expansion of the factory was completed. Currently, the two-story factory occupies an area of 61,000 square meters with 43,726 square meters of floorage. Shanghai YKK completed its third phase of expansion in February of 2005. Since the expansion, the factory now occupies up to 103,806 square meters of land with 97,442 square meters in the construction area. With the double size factory floor, yearly productivity is also expected to double. The factory has adopted YKK Group's unique chain production system with regards to raw materials, semi-finished products and finished products, and it is equipped with YKK Group's latest fully automotive production equipment. Taking quality as its first priority, Shanghai YKK obtained ISO9002 and ISO14001 certificates respectively in 1998 and 1999, and by the end of 2000 obtained an OHSAS18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems) certificate. The factory also obtained an ISO9001 (2000 Version) certificate in 2002. The Factory is now striving to achieve a goal of "YKK standard = world standard and quality = world quality."
